Why Managed Backup?
In today’s environment of explosive data growth and regulatory requirements, companies need a more efficient way to back-up their mission critical data. Our Remote Backup system was designed to provide higher availability, scalability, and security while leveraging your current infrastructure. Your data is secured using military strength encryption to make sure no one can access your data except you. All data is stored on redundant servers for high availability.
What are the benefits?
- Database Backup – Using Makios Remote Backup you can back up Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, and many other databases.
- Parallel Backup to Local Storage – Keep a copy of your data on your network. This allows for instant recovery in case a larger file needs to be recovered
- Data Archiving – Low cost storage solutions are available for data that is no longer going to change. We use the same level of protection and security as our online backup solution but it is placed near-line instead of on-line. Data that needs to be recovered from our archive server can be sent overnight on disk media or an external drive.
- Backup Generation Management – We automatically remove stored data from our servers after a specified period of time. Maintaining generations will help lower the cost of online file storage.
- Email Message Level Restore – In contrast to performing an Exchange Database backup, we can backup Exchange, Lotus Notes, or Groupwise email at the message level. Makios Remote Backup allows for backup and restore of individual contacts, calendars, and email messages.
- Bare Metal Restores – A bare metal restore is the restoration of a complete system on new hardware – regardless of manufacturer – which is important when the hardware is discontinued or ordering a machine is not an option. We can include local data, user profiles, registry/system state, service pack files and encrypted files to ensure total recovery.
- Delta Backup Technology – When the initial backup has completed, the system backs up only the changes to your data at the block level. This helps to greatly speed up you nightly backups.
